Jubilee Lodge raises over £2,200 for Devon Air Ambulance

The community of apartment Owners at Churchill Retirement Living’s Jubilee Lodge in Seaton came together last week to present a cheque for £2,293.16 to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

The majority of this was raised at a special Summer Fete held at the Lodge earlier this year, and attended by apartment Owners and members of the local community who raised an impressive £1,293.16. This was topped up by £1,000 from the Churchill Foundation, Churchill’s own charity, to boost the total amount going to this extremely deserving cause.

The fundraising was organised in memory of Seaton retiree John Claydon, who very sadly died in a car accident earlier this year. It was also to show support for his friend and passenger Jane, an apartment Owner at Jubilee Lodge, who survived the accident thanks to the excellent care and response of the Devon Air Ambulance and is now back home in her apartment and recovering well.

Devon Air Ambulance Trust Volunteer Simon Card OBE was presented with the cheque by Jane and members of the Churchill team on Wednesday 15th November at a special coffee morning to mark the achievement.

Lodge Manager Karon Banks said: “Jane’s recovery has been an inspiration to all of us, and we’re very proud to have raised so much for this excellent charity. It was great to welcome Simon to the Lodge and present him with the cheque, and we’re delighted that the Churchill Foundation was also able to contribute £1,000 to boost our total. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us.”
